ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello! My name is Sophia Storch and I have a BFA in Ceramics and a Bachelors in Spanish from the University of Hawai'i, Mānoa. I currently teach at Mudd Studio Hawai'i. At my university I have also studied other forms of 3D art including glass blowing, metal working, and sculpture. I have favoured ceramics because I feel that I have a connection to every piece. With every step in the process I am able to assert my style in the form that I want it. However, not every piece turns out as planned, but these are often the most beautiful. They hold a certain uniqueness that is impossible to be repeated, they are the only kind in the world. This is the beauty of handmade ceramics.
